about
This sums up the emotional journey between me and my husband. We went fro tearing each other down, hurting each other, leaving each other, learning ore about and appreciating each other, to loving and forgiving each other. I never would've felt the way I feel about him now had I never crossed the line. I have no regrets about the whole experience.
lyrics
ALL LINES CROSSED
VERSE I:
Pride got the best of us
If I stab you first, it won’t hurt that much
Marred by our words unkind
All the pillars we built slowly broke away
Into nothing, oh---
CHORUS:
Take these memories and put them into a box
Locked with our heavy hearts
Then throw away all the keys
“Never again,” we said
This line is crossed
VERSE II:
The year went on and we quickly drifted away
To defend myself, I gave my heart away
So blindfully to the next best thing
In naivety, I let him take and strip my soul
Amongst all his pretty lies, he showed me
Who I was, all the best and the worst of me
Self-reflecting to grow
(CHORUS)
VERSE III:
You flew across the sea to take a week away from me
To defend yourself, you gave your heart away
So generously to any batting eye
She took full advantage of all your dreams
She offered her hand and you nearly took the bait
But when the red flags flew, you pulled away
You said, “I know what it’s like to be vindictive and vulnerable,
I’ve learned more about myself than in thirteen years.”
And from this distance, we grow
(CHORUS)
BRIDGE:
And there came a day when the storm had passed
But today is the day when the water is still
Under the bridge, oh---
FINAL CHORUS:
Take these memories and put them into a box
Open the empty book and write again page anew
Set down our heavy hearts and turn again all the keys
Full speed ahead, we tread
For all lines we’ve crossed, oh---
All lines we’ve crossed, oh---
All lines we’ve crossed, oh---
For all lines we’ve crossed
